In November 2018 priests from Kedarnath demanded a ban on the film as they believed it promotes "love jihad". BJP leader, Ajendra Ajay of Dehradun's BJP media relations team, also took issue and urged a ban; he wrote to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asserting that the film makes fun of Hindu sentiments despite being set against the backdrop of the Uttarakhand floods.The reason was showing romantic relationship between Hindu girl and Muslim boy.

Prerna Arora who was asked to back out from the film as producer was arrested a day after the film's release on 8th December 2018 in a f raid case not related to the film.Where she stated she was been framed.

Nitish Bhardwaj plays a father's character for the first time in a Hindi film.

Sushant Singh Rajput's character name was "Mansoor Khan", it is Sara Ali's debut movie and it is a coincidence that Sara's grandfather's name is also Mansoor (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi)
